As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to evolve, its applications across various fields are becoming increasingly profound. To enhance the efficiency and quality of various services and administrative processes at our university, Information Technology Department (ITD) is planning to develop an AI-powered chatbot capable of answering common university-related inquiries (such as academic, administrative, and logistical questions) based on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, which will provide convenient and real-time assistance for two primary target users:
1. External Users: Providing accurate and efficient answers to prospective students, parents, and other external users.
2. Internal Users: Delivering a comprehensive Q&A system for faculty, staff, and students, utilizing our internal knowledge base.
Knowledge Base Collection:
In the initial phase of the project, we will focus on optimizing certain key areas like admissions and administrative support. As the project progresses, we will further improve the chatbot’s capabilities and gradually expand to cover additional areas.
If there are any requirements for adding certain aspects of your operations to the chatbot’s scope, please feel free to reach out. We will work closely with departments to build tailored knowledge bases to support the development of the system in alignment with departmental needs.
Collaborative Support:
Considering the potential challenges (such as AI Hallucination) during the implementation, we wish to collaborate with relevant research teams within the university to tackle these technical difficulties, ensuring the accuracy, security, and effectiveness of the system.
