To effectively supplement the necessary computing power resources for HKUST(GZ) and to diversify the types of computing power resources, Information Technology Department (ITD) procured external vendors' high-performance computing resources through an open tender process. This initiative aims to meet the growing teaching and research needs of the university and provide diverse computing services for faculty and students.

1.        Resource Types and Pricing

Public computing rental services offer various resource types from external vendors, including CPU computing resources, GPU computing resources, and storage resources. Two service models are available: on-demand shared resources and dedicated monthly subscription.

2.        Service Application

This service is currently available only to current university members. Research teams requiring access must submit applications through a faculty member.

How to apply: Faculty members should complete the attached [Template] Public Computing Rental Service Application form and submit it via email to <hpc@hkust-gz.edu.cn>. The HPC team will assist in activating platform accounts and allocating the requested computing resources. 

3.        Billing and Payment

The public computing rental service operates on a pay-as-you-go model. At the end of each calendar month, usage bills will be sent to the faculty member's email. After verifying the charges, faculty members are required to complete BR payments via the PBMS system within 30 days of invoice issuance. 

Note: Costs incurred by student accounts will be charged to their supervising faculty member's account.
