To better serve the teaching and research needs of faculty and students, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) has fully deployed the DeepSeek-R1 671B large language model (LLM) on campus. The system will officially launch on February 17, 2025, providing all faculty and students with new AI-powered large language model services!

The DeepSeek model will provide more intelligent and efficient support for your studies and research. Whether for academic exploration, course assistance, or daily problem-solving, DeepSeek will serve as your powerful assistant.

[Service Suspension for Update] The GPT Service System will be suspended for upgrading on February 17, 2025, from 18:00 to 22:00. During this period, both the Dialogue Mode (https://gpt.hkust-gz.edu.cn/) and the API Mode will be unavailable. Please plan your usage accordingly.

[Service Access Methods]

1.    Dialogue Box Mode: 

(1) PC Web: Visi https://gpt.hkust-gz.edu.cn/ and log in with the campus account and password. 

(2) Mobile: Log in to the "科大Go” WeChat Mini-Program, then open "Campus GPT". For convenience of use and management, DeepSeek services are integrated with GPT services in GPT Service System. Please select the appropriate model as needed.

2. API Mode: Users that have already applied for our GPT API account can access DeepSeek using their existing key. Please see the attached request demo. If you have not applied for our GPT API account yet, please submit your application via "DingTalk - OA Approval - GPT Application." 

Currently, the DeepSeek can be explored by faculty, staff and students for free under the fair-use principle for system running stably and smoothly.
