We are pleased to announce that the HPC domestic cluster (Phase IV) is scheduled to commence trial operation on February 6, 2026. This phase of the domestic computing power cluster primarily includes:
- Ascend NPU 384 Super Nodes: A total of 48 nodes, each equipped with 8 × 910C NPUs (8 × 128GB video memory capacity). Advanced bus technology within the super nodes enables an interconnection speed of 784 GB/s among the 384 NPUs, with a memory bandwidth of 3.2 TB/s. Leveraging this new architecture, the cluster can fully meet the requirements for low latency and high bandwidth in model training and inference, delivering performance improvements by multiples in typical scenarios such as Mixture of Experts (MoE), recommendation systems, long-sequence modeling, and multimodal applications.
- Kunpeng CPU High-Performance Computing Nodes: A total of 22 nodes, each equipped with two 64-core Kunpeng processors (2.8 GHz high frequency), providing robust computing and data processing capabilities. The nodes are interconnected via a high-speed RoCE network and are integrated with a high-performance foundational software stack, including the HyperMPI communication library, KML math library, and compilers, ensuring significantly enhanced parallel computing efficiency. This cluster offers stable and reliable high-performance computing support for large-scale numerical simulations and complex computational tasks across multiple disciplines, such as materials chemistry, life sciences, meteorology, and oceanography.
To facilitate users in utilizing this cluster, we’re conducting adaptation and validation work for models and software on the domestic cluster. For detailed information on the adaptation status, please refer to the continuously updated HPC Knowledge Base list: https://docs.hpc.hkust-gz.edu.cn/docs/hpc4/domestic/
The trial operation period will last for three months, ending on May 5, 2026. During this period, the cluster will be free to use. After the trial operation, reasonable charges will be applied for resource usage. Detailed pricing information is provided in the attachment.
Interested users are invited to complete the following trial application form. The HPC team will send trial accounts via email for the duration of the trial operation.
