We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all faculty, colleagues, and students for their enthusiastic support of our university's GPT service. We are excited to announce that with the release of the new version of the GPT service, we plan to conduct a comprehensive upgrade of the existing GPT service model to better meet everyone's needs. In addition, to welcome new students, professors and colleagues and to master more efficient techniques for using the GPT service, we will organize a GPT training activity.
1. Model Upgrade
To facilitate the launch of the new GPT models, gpt-4o-2024-08-06 and gpt-4o-mini-2024-07-18, GPT service system will upgrade new models. The details are as follows:
Upgrade Time: October 11, 2024, 18:00-19:00 (The system can be used normally during the upgrade)
Upgrade Details:
1. The ChatGPT model in the dialogue box will be upgraded from gpt-3.5-turbo-0125 to gpt-4o-mini-2024-07-18.
2. The GPT-4 model in the dialogue box will be upgraded from gpt-4-0125 to gpt-4o-2024-08-06.
3. The GPT-4 Vision model in the dialogue box will be upgraded from gpt-4-turbo to gpt-4o-2024-08-06.
4. The API mode's gpt-3.5-turbo model will be upgraded from gpt-3.5-turbo-0125 to gpt-4o-mini-2024-07-18.
5. The API mode's GPT-4 model will be upgraded from gpt-4-0125 to gpt-4o-2024-08-06, and it will support text and graphic generation features.

After the upgrade, the GPT API mode will be charged in the new models’ prices. The unit price of the GPT API mode is based on the supplier's unit price and is subject to "collection and payment on behalf of others". The unit price of the GPT API mode may be dynamically adjusted according to the supplier's model unit price and actual operating conditions. If there is an adjustment, a separate email notification will be sent.
Remarks:
1. "Prompt" refers to the text input into the pre-trained model, that is, the content of the user's question.
2. "Completion" refers to the text output by the pre-trained model according to the prompt, that is, the content of GPT's answer.
2. GPT Training
To enable new students, professors and colleagues to better understand and use GPT services, the Information Technology Department (ITD) will hold a training session on using GPT services.
